Home And Away’s cast and crew have paid tribute to actor Ben Unwin following his death.
The actor died aged 41 on 14 August, with his death confirmed in a statement by New South Wales police on Tuesday 20 August.
In a statement issued to Metro.co.uk, Seven Network, who air Home And Away in Australia, said: ‘Cast and crew from Home And Away are saddened to learn of the passing of former castmate, Ben Urwin.
‘Ben’s work in the role of Jesse McGregor is remembered with much affection.
‘Ben’s family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.’
Fellow Home and Away co-stars have also paid tribute to Unwin, including Ada Nicodemou who plays Leah Patterson in the soap.
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Nico said: ‘I just woke up to the tragic news of Ben’s passing, my heart goes out to his family.’
Kimberley Cooper, who played Gypsy Smith on the soap, paid tribute by a posting a cover of TV Week she shared with the star.
‘My first tv week cover was with you,’ Kimberley wrote. ‘We had years of laughter, be it giggles on set trying to get through scenes as lovers or doubled over belly laughs at the pubs after work.
‘I will be sad for now, but I promise to tell great stories of great joy about our times together. You forever hold a special place in my heart. Love you Onion.’
Unwin played Jesse McGregor on Home And Away from 1996-2000, and later returned to the soap in 2002-2005.
