Dr Dre is reportedly getting divorced from his wife, Nicole Young, after 24 years of marriage.
Nicole allegedly filed for separation from the 55-year-old rapper at the Los Angeles County Court on Monday, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
Dre – real name Andre Romelle Young – married Nicole in 1996 and they have two children together: a son, Truice, 23, and a daughter, Truly, 19.
The exes did not sign a prenup before getting married and Nicole is seeking spousal support, sources told TMZ.
Dre is worth an estimated $800million (£650m), according to Forbes magazine.
Nicole, who was previously married to NBA player, Sedale Threatt, is being represented in the divorce by celeb attorney, Samantha Spector, the publication claimed.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Dre’s reps for comment.
Nicole spoke highly of Dre in the Netflix docuseries The Defiant Ones, which follows the artist’s partnership with producer Jim Iovine.
Dre last shared a photo with Nicole on Instagram in September 2018, posting a snap of them laughing alongside the caption: ‘Was just an average Tuesday.’
Several months earlier, he treated the lawyer to a helicopter ride to see the musical Hamilton for their 22nd wedding anniversary.
Sharing a snap of them posing in front of the helicopter, he wrote; ’22nd Anniversary! Headed to see Hamilton.’
Dre shot to fame as part of the hip hop group, N.W.A, in the late ’80s, before establishing a hugely successful career as a producer and founder of Beats Electronics.
He sold the Beats by Dre headphone brand to Apple for £3bn in 2014.
