Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is a man on a mission in EastEnders tonight as he sets out to get answers over who attacked him. Knowing that everyone around him is lying to him, he doesn’t know whether to trust the claims of his son Ben (Max Bowden) nor does he know whether to believe that missing Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) is the true culprit.
But as he sets out to get answers, suddenly he finds a memory of an altercation with Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) coming back to him and he sets out to confront her. Beforehand, he further quizzes Ben and then seeks answers from Jay (Jamie Borthwick), who makes him more suspicious than ever.
When his recollection over rowing with Kat over the money comes to him, Phil marches to the Slater household and the look on his face says it all. Kat is shaken by the level of rage eminating from a seething Phil and he refuses to leave without finding out how involved she was in his attack.
Of course, fans know that Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) was the one who clobbered Phil as he was throttling her husband Martin (James Bye) at the time. Stacey and Martin are now on the run, fearing that they will lose everything if the truth comes to light.
Kat does everything she can to protect Stacey but Phil is clearly not ready to back down and she has to think fast – will she take the blame herself and risk his revenge? Or will she come clean about Stacey?
By the end of their intense exchange, she has a bombshell to drop on Phil which changes the playing field once again. As Phil is left reeling by what she tells him, will he finally reach the truth?
And who will his next target be as his tirade continues?
EastEnders continues on Monday 19th August at 8pm on BBC One.
