According to IEE Spectrum, the AquaMAV combines flamable energy and water with a purpose to propel itself. The drone accommodates calcium carbide powder. When blended with water, the drone creates acetylene gasoline, which then will get funneled right into a combustion chamber together with air and water. When ignited, the combination then explodes, forcing the water out of the combustion chamber and propelling the drone into air.
The AquaMAV can fly as much as 26 meters in the air, and creates a lot pressure it could even propel itself out of uneven waters.
