Finn O’Connor (Keith Rice) has already appeared a number of times in Hollyoaks this year. From giving Diane (Alex Fletcher) some advice on how to handle Laurie (Kyle Pryor), to coming face-to-face with Laurie for himself, the young man has been caught up in plenty of drama —but with him due out of prison soon, he wants Diane to pay him a visit. The question is: will she comply?
In the coming episodes, Diane deliberates over whether or not to visit Finn. As a result of her indecisiveness, she decides to enlighten Tony (Nick Pickard) and Sinead (Stephanie Davis) about her son’s request — and neither are best pleased. It’s Sinead in particular that struggles to process what her mum’s told her, and as a result does her best to convince Diane to resist visiting her son.
In spite of her daughter’s request, Diane remains unsure about what to do for the best. However, when Tony begins to worry about Harry’s (Parry Glasspool) whereabouts once more, he tells Diane that he’s not giving up on his son — something which helps her make up her mind, as she revolves to not give up on her’s either.
She complies with Finn’s wishes and visits him in prison — but just what is it that Finn so desperately wants to see his mum for?
Later in the week, Diane heads to the prison once more and — upon seeing Finn again — she tells tells him that he’s welcome to come live with her when he gets out.
A huge step forward in their relationship, perhaps? The big question is: will Finn accept Diane’s offer?
Finn caused plenty of heartache during his time in the village, so perhaps he’ll want to distance himself from Chester once and for all? Having said that, perhaps his time in prison will have resulted in him wanting to make amends to all those that he hurt?
How will Tony and Sinead react to Diane’s proposal?
One to watch: Monday 26th August at 7pm on E4.
