YouTuber Lee Hinchcliffe has mentioned that Jack Maynard was ‘singled out’ all over his time on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.
Before Joe Sugg took on Strictly Come Dancing, the younger megastar appeared set to kick off YouTuber illustration in mainstream fact TV.
Chatting to Metro.co.united kingdom at Summer within the City, Lee mentioned: ‘When Jack Maynard did I’m A Celebrity, the mainstream media had been the primary to clamp down on his tweets from 4/5 years in the past that had been – clearly they weren’t great tweets however there was no wish to clamp down on him particularly because all of those other people had been different celebrities and he got here from YouTube.
‘It just felt like he was getting a bit singled out, which I didn’t truly really feel was truthful.’
The 20-year-old added: ‘To me, cancel culture is a big group of people wanting to single someone out and kill off their social media and make them not relevant in a way – and I don’t suppose that’s truthful.’
However, he added: ‘It sort of depends on the situation…it depends what they’ve performed.’
Nevertheless, Lee, who boasts a following of greater than 300,000 on YouTube, published he’d love to participate in a fact TV display – or even have one made about his personal existence.
‘Obviously I’m now not going to do Love Island or anything else whilst I’m in a courting!’ he contemplated. ‘But I personally would like a reality show of me because, for a 20-year-old boy, I’m so silly. I may make a lot of other people snigger.’
And he’s happy with his YouTube friends who’ve danced their manner onto the Strictly ballroom ground, as he chatted about Saffron Barker being showed for the display.
‘A lot of people in mainstream media are the older generation and they don’t truly perceive what we’re about, what we do. It’s now not all simply being silly in entrance of a digital camera.
‘It’s great to be taken a bit extra like a TV persona. It’s great to be taken a bit extra significantly.’
