Lydia Bright has confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child – but has also split from boyfriend of two years, Lee Cronin.
The 28-year-old’s dream of becoming a mum has finally come true, with her first baby due to be born next February.
She confirmed the news on Instagram, saying she was ‘so excited’.
‘Surprise! Yes, I’m having a baby… I’m so excited,’ she revealed.
In a new interview with Hello! magazine, the former Towie star said that has spent most of her life ‘travelling and partying’ and she is ‘now where she wants to be in terms of her life’.
She said: ‘It’s been so hard keeping this a secret.
‘I’ve done so much travelling, I’ve done all my partying holidays, I’m where I want to be in terms of my life, financially and career-wise.
‘It just feels like the right time for it all to happen for me.’
She also admitted that everyone thinks she will be having a baby girl, and that she would want to have the same relationship that she has with her mother if that was the case.
‘I think that’s because I’m very girly, so people just imagine me with a girl. But I’m really not bothered.
‘I’d love a girl to be my best friend – me and my mum are best friends, she’s my best friend for life,’ while adding that if she were to have a boy, she’d protect him like a ‘big brother’.
This big announcement comes just as the reality star has also announced her split from her partner, and the baby’s father, Lee Cronin, after two years of dating.
Lydia also recently revealed that she would be keen to foster children someday, although not ‘anytime soon’.
‘I’d like to foster children one day – not anytime soon, but maybe when I have children of my own I’ll look into it,’ she revealed in her column with Closer magazine.
And Lydia is pretty familiar with fostering already – as both of her parents, 61-year-old Dave and 57-year-old Debbie, fostered over 200 children in their lifetime.
