R Kelly arrest warrant issued as he fails to turn up in court over sex crime charges

A warrant has been issued for R Kelly’s arrest, after he failed to turn up to court in Minnesota, over sex crime charges.

The Ignition singer was due to seem at a listening to on Thursday, after he was charged with two counts of soliciting prostitution from somebody beneath the age of 18.

However, the 52-year-old – actual identify Robert Kelly – was a no-show in court, as he is at present incarcerated at a jail in Chicago, dealing with charges together with youngster porn and obstruction of justice.

The Minnesota District Attorney’s Office advised TMZ that federal authorities are ‘unwilling to give them access’ to the star till his federal case has been resolved.

His lawyer hit out on the proceedings, telling TMZ: ‘They never came to get him, wtf was he supposed to do, telepathically transport himself?’

Kelly allegedly paid a teen – stated to be between 16 and 17 on the time – $200 (£176) to get bare, earlier than asking her to carry out sexual acts in his Minneapolis resort room.

The alleged sufferer claimed that, whereas there was ‘naked dancing’ and ‘sexual touching’, there was no intercourse.



The incident is claimed to have taken place on 11 July 2001.

Gloria Allred is representing the alleged sufferer, and stated in an announcement: ‘I would love to emphasise that my shopper is just not a prostitute. She is as a substitute a toddler sufferer of Mr. Kelly.

‘My understanding from law enforcement in that state is that the only available statute for which Mr. Kelly can be charged is the prostitution statute.’

While Kelly’s lawyer branded the claims ‘absurd’.

The I Believe I Can Fly singer is already dealing with 18 counts of great sexual misconduct, as properly as 5 federal charges together with kidnapping and racketeering.

He has vehemently denied all allegations.

If discovered responsible, he may face up to 30 years in jail.
