Strictly Come Dancing’s Neil and Katya Jones reportedly split as a result of the kiss with Seann Walsh last year as it made it ‘impossible for them to get back on track.’
Last year, while competing on the show, Katya was pictured snogging her dance partner Seann on a night out while both of them were in committed relationships.
While the comedian was dumped by his girlfriend Rebecca Humphries, Neil and Katya stayed together.
However, after the married couple’s split earlier this month, it’s been claimed that they couldn’t get past the kiss last year as ‘the infidelity highlighted problems within the relationship and made it impossible for them to get back on track.’
A source added to The Sun: ‘They are determined not to let their split affect Strictly as it’s their main source of income.
‘They’re being guided by how Kevin and Karen Clifton handled their split.’
A spokesperson for Katya and Neil told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘It would be incorrect and unfair to attribute their separation to one isolated incident.
‘Many people make such a decision to separate when they realise that their relationship has become more of a friendship. They remain the very best of friends and will continue to dance together.’
Meanwhile, with Seann taking to the stage at the Edinburgh Fringe over the weekend, he reportedly kicked the boot into the Strictly Come Dancing couple’s split, saying he’ll ‘go to hell’ following the fracas caused by his kiss with Katya last year.
Not really the time, is it pal?
The Strictly pros confirmed their split in an Instagram post just as training for the next series kicks off.
‘Hi everyone. As our fans and loyal supporters you are really important to us and so we wanted to let you know some news. After 11 years we have made the mutual decision to separate,’ they wrote.
‘We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends. This will never change what a great team we make and we are really proud of everything we have achieved together.
‘Our shared love of dance means we will keep working and dancing together as well as exploring individual projects. No matter what we do we will always support and respect each other.
‘We wish one another every happiness and we will remain the best of friends. We are really looking forward to getting back to the ballroom and can’t wait to keep on dancing. Lots of love from us both xx (sic).’
