Stacey Fowler (played by Lacey Turner) left viewers in tears after her emotional exit from EastEnders at the beginning of August.
The emotive scenes saw Stacey leave her son Arthur behind in Walford with his dad Kush, whilst she fled the Square with Martin Fowler (Jon Peyton-Price) and her daughters in the hope of escaping arrest for the attack on Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
The scenes and her exit from the soap were written to allow actress Lacey Turner to go on maternity leave.
Turner gave birth to her daughter, Dusty Rose, on July 12 and even though an exact date for her return to the soap after maternity leave hasn’t been confirmed, fans eager to see Stacey return to our screens may not have that long to wait after all.
When is Lacey Turner returning to EastEnders as Stacey Fowler?
Metro.co.uk understands that Lacey Turner has already returned to the soap to film a few scenes for one episode to continue her storyline as Stacey Fowler.
While she is not back permanently and will still be taking maternity leave, viewers could expect to see Stacey back on our screens at some point in November.
Stacey’s motivation to return after being on the run is still a secret but with her mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) undergoing chemotherapy and her son Arthur still living in Walford, the mum-of-three has plenty of reasons to come back and face her demons – and Phil.
A show insider told the Daily Star that Stacey’s return to the soap will be gradual: ‘Initially, it will be a short stint to reintroduce the character and then she’ll be back full-time a few months later.’
EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays on BBC One at 8pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
