PewDiePie has long been considered one of the more controversial YouTubers on the platform, but this time the news about him isn’t because he spoke out of turn. Instead, he’s in the headlines because he’s married his long-term girlfriend Marzia Bisognin.
The pair have been together for eight years, and tied the knot this week at London’s picturesque Kew Gardens, surrounded by their friends and family.
Both shared their excitement on social media, with plenty of long-awaited snaps of the dress and the ceremony. Well-wishes have also poured in from many in the YouTube community, of which PewDiePie – real name Felix Kjellberg – was, until recently, the most subscribed-to star.
Although Felix’s popularity has been well documented, Marzia’s own success is not to be eclipsed by that of her new husband.
Here’s everything you need to know about her.
26-year-old Marzia was born in Arzignon, Italy, on 21 October 1992.
She met PewDiePie in 2011, after a friend recommended she watch his videos and they started Facebook messaging.
From there, she moved to Sweden so they could live together, and Marzia started her own YouTube channel called CutiePieMarzia.
Although the channel has now been closed, she focused mostly on travel, lifestyle, and fashion among other topics.
Throughout 2012, the pair lived in Sweden and Italy, before travelling to Los Angeles, and then settling down in Brighton in 2013 – also home of YouTube stars Zoe Sugg and Alfie Deyes – before getting three dogs together, Maya, Ynk, and Edgar.
From there, she went on to voice act in shows such as Oscar’s Hotel for Fantastical Creatures and Pugatory, an online web series about her own dog.
On top of this work, Marzia has been at the helm of a number of successful brands. Since March 2015, Bisognin has launched several lines of fashion and design merchandise including nail polish shades, home decor products, and clothing. Her brands include Lemon, Amore, and Maì.
