YouTuber Deji has said he wants to fight FouseyTube ahead of his brother KSI and Logan Paul’s boxing rematch and it might mean they’re set for an undercard.
The 22-year-old, who hit headlines late last year when he was embroiled in a fierce feud with his brother, hit out at his fellow internet star in a live stream.
‘Hey Fousey, if you wanna spar, let’s go, alright?’ he said. ‘I tried contacting you – we talked for a bit, and then you just ghosted. So I’m saying this now – if you want to spar, Fousey – me and you, no cameras if you don’t want cameras, or we can film it – we can spar. I can show you that you’re nowhere near ready.’
Fousey – real name Yousef Saleh Erakat – hit back on Twitter: ‘Yo Deji… book your flight. Let’s get it.’
Considering Fousey’s from California and the rematch is rumoured to be taking place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, it all seems a little convenient.
The American YouTuber built his audience of more than 10 million through parodies, vlogs, and sketches. Although he left YouTube for a year, he recently returned to the platform.
While nothing has been confirmed about the rematch, The Athletic has claimed that the rematch is finally set to happen on 9 November at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The last match took place at the Manchester Arena, with KSI – real name Olajide ‘JJ’ Olatunji – and Logan drawing.
‘What a fight, man! [Logan’s] athletic background definitely showed in that fight, he had a very good jab. I’ll give him that. Nice and snappy, nice and long,’ he said in a video.
‘Personally I thought I won the fight in all honesty. He was absolutely gassed by the end of the fight and I was still ready to keep going. You saw the fight, I was first to stand up every time after the break.’
The 26-year-old added: ‘It came out as a draw, I thought that was bulls***. It shouldn’t have been a draw, it’s not like I beat him by a landslide, but it is what it is. I brought him into the deep end and he clearly struggled with that. Your boy’s still the champ.’
Meanwhile, Deji took on Logan’s brother Jake in the undercard, with the American YouTuber triumphing.
After picking up the win, Jake said: ‘I feel amazing man. I worked hard for this. Deji fought an amazing fight, I respect him.
‘I hope he learned a lesson about the things that he said, he said some shit about my family that wasn’t cool, so hopefully he can learn from that.
‘No hard feelings. I feel amazing right now.’
