A heartbroken girl who by chance binned her engagement ring thanked recycling centre workers for locating it amongst garbage.
She stated two staff at Five Lanes recycling centre, Caldicot, “trawled through hundreds of bags” to search out it.
Jo Carter realised on Sunday morning she had misplaced it and it had been taken to the tip together with 15 different black luggage.
Two Monmouthshire council staff spent 4 hours looking for it.

Mrs Carter stated: “It has enormous sentimental worth and can be very costly and never insured.
“This morning my husband Craig went to the tip and two wonderful human beings trawled via tons of of baggage to search out it.
“Their kindness and good hearts have had me in tears.”
Mr and Mrs Carter thanked the employees, saying it confirmed the Monmouthshire group “at its best”.
She added: “Thank you for your kindness and good hearts.”
