Heathrow drone protest: Two held over climate change action

Two males have been arrested at Heathrow as climate change protesters tried to launch drones inside the airport’s exclusion zone.

Heathrow Pause stated it meant to fly drones within the 5km exclusion zone across the airport on Friday morning.

Meanwhile, the primary flights landed as regular simply earlier than 05:00 BST.

The Met Police stated it was assured disruption can be stored to a minimal and a dispersal order had been put in place on the airport till Sunday.

The two males have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a public nuisance the pressure stated.

Heathrow Pause is a splinter group of the broader Extinction Rebellion motion, though it operates independently from it.

The arrests adopted 5 pre-emptive arrests on Thursday, when officers caught suspected would-be drone pilots, together with Extinction Rebellion co-founder, Roger Hallam, forward of the deliberate action.
