Hyde Park Corner crash: Man, 66, dies after being hit by car in central London

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car at Hyde Park Corner

Police were called to the scene in the early hours of this morning, where the 66-year-old man was found seriously injured.

He was declared dead at the scene. 

The driver involved in the collision stopped and there have been no arrests. 

Road closures have been put in place in the area due to the incident. 

A Rolls Royce car was seen inside the cordon as officers carried out investigations. 

Officers remained on the scene, while a blue tent had also been set up within the parameters of the police tape. 

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: “Police were called on Thursday, 22 August at 3:14 hours to a report of a collision between a car and pedestrian at Hyde Park Corner.

“The emergency services attended and found the pedestrian, a 66-year-old man seriously injured.

“He was declared dead at the scene.”

No details of the man’s identity were given and his family have not been informed, the spokeswoman added.
