Johnson denies lying to Queen over Parliament suspension

Boris Johnson has denied lying to the Queen over the recommendation he gave her over the five-week suspension of Parliament.

The prime minister was talking after Scotland’s highest civil courtroom dominated on Wednesday the shutdown was illegal.

Asked whether or not he had lied to the monarch about his causes for the suspension, he replied: “Absolutely not.”

He stated: “The High Court in England plainly agrees with us but the Supreme Court will have to decide.”
