A man has been stabbed to demise in a Birmingham street.

The sufferer, in his 30s, was found fatally wounded in Cooksey Lane, Kingstanding, at about 07:00 BST on Saturday.

A short while later a 37-year-old man was arrested in Hamstead on suspicion of homicide. The suspect is understood to the sufferer, West Midlands Police stated.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to come back ahead, together with two males and a lady who left in a taxi.

“We already have some people helping us with our enquiries but I believe others have left the scene who may be witnesses,” Det Insp Caroline Corfield stated.

“I’m significantly eager to hint three folks… who left in a taxi, and I might ask them to make contact with us as quickly as attainable as they could have data which might assist our investigation.

“Another life tragically misplaced to knife crime is one other one too many and we’re doing all we will to seek out out what occurred this morning.”

The scene has been cordoned off for forensic investigations and officers are reviewing CCTV.
