Woman killed in floods was former Derbyshire High Sheriff Annie Hall

A lady killed by flooding in Derbyshire has been named because the county’s former High Sheriff Annie Hall.

She was swept away by the River Derwent in Darley Dale, near Matlock, in the early hours of Friday, and her physique was recovered downstream.

Derbyshire Chief Constable Peter Goodman stated he was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the dying of his pal.

Persistent rain induced floods throughout Yorkshire and the Midlands on Friday.
