Zakari Bennett-Eko: Man charged with murder after death of baby pulled from river in Manchester

A person has been charged with murder after the death of a baby boy who was pulled from a river in Manchester.

Zak Eko, 22, as been remanded in custody and can seem at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

He is charged with killing 11-month-old Zakari William Bennett-Eko.

The baby boy was pulled by firefighters from the River Irwell in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, on Wednesday.

Zakari was taken to hospital from the scene close to Blackburn Street in the city centre, after experiences {that a} little one was in the water shortly earlier than 4.25pm.

He died a short while later.

In an emotional submit on Facebook, the kid’s mom, Emma Blood, wrote: “I misplaced my baby at present. I really like my little boy and did all the things for him.

She added: “I want I used to be lifeless as an alternative. Let me grieve for my little one, my entire world and a lot extra.”
