Brendan Rodgers has urged that Liverpool failed to completely again him in the switch market throughout his time at Anfield.
The 46-year-old got here near guiding Liverpool to the Premier League title in the 2013-14 season and was named LMA Manager of the Year for that marketing campaign.
But Rodgers was sacked in October 2015 after a poor begin to the season.
During his time at Liverpool, Rodgers signed Mamadou Sakho for £15 million, Dejan Lovren for £20m, Nathaniel Clyne for £15m and in addition spent £9m on goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
But the Leicester City supervisor has now questioned whether or not he had the high quality of defenders he wanted to achieve success at Anfield and has highlighted that Liverpool have since invested ‘a lot of money’ to enhance Jurgen Klopp’s choices at the again.
‘I think if you look when I was in Scotland [with Celtic] we had defensive records as well,’ Rodgers mentioned after Leicester City’s 2-Zero win over Arsenal on Saturday.
‘At Liverpool of course we were very good going forward, you have to ask did I have the players to defend how we’d need to defend?
‘I believe now at Liverpool they clearly make investments some huge cash to get these sorts of gamers in.
‘Here I’ve obtained a top-level centre-half in Jonny Evans, a younger participant in Caglar [Soyuncu] beside him who’s superb. We’ve obtained a prime European goalkeeper.’
