England hero Bob Willis has hit out at Tim Paine and says the Australia captain is ‘not very good’.
Paine was named Australia captain within the wake of the ball-tampering scandal that noticed former skipper Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner banned for 12 months.
The 34-year-old has struggled with the bat during the Ashes, posting only one fifty, and has curiously solely ever made one first-class century in over 120 matches.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ The Debate programme, former England captain Willis mentioned: ‘What can we make of Tim Paine?
‘He acquired all this reward for holding the crew collectively after the sandpaper affair.
‘But is he any good? Is he a captain? He’s not a very good wicketkeeper. He’s not a very good batsman both.’
