Xhaka’s days on the Emirates seem like numbered after he was stripped of the captaincy in the wake of a livid confrontation with followers.
The midfielder has not performed since telling followers to ‘f*** off’ final month and dominated himself out of Arsenal’s conflict with Leicester City.
Asked if there had been discussions about selling Xhaka in January, Emery replied: ‘Yes, I requested that query.
‘The club knows the player’s choice for the time being and my choice or my thought about that state of affairs and the circumstances.
‘We are now a little weaker without him in that position because we have one less player in that position.’
Newcastle are reportedly in taking Xhaka on mortgage in January and the participant himself is worried about being sidelined forward of the European Championships subsequent summer time.
It is unclear if Xhaka will play once more for Arsenal, though the 27-year-old is continuous to coach as regular with the first-team.
‘I spoke with him on Tuesday for how he is feeling now and his mind because he is training well, but he said to me he can’t play. We are going to attend,’ Emery defined forward of the Leicester recreation.
