Virat Kohli admitted his India group have been ‘not good enough’ in their 10-wicket defeat to New Zealand in the first Test in Wellington.
India produced a mediocre efficiency in opposition to the Black Caps and have been bowled out for 165 and 191, with Kiwi quick bowlers Trent Boult and Tim Southee taking 9 wickets apiece.
Only one India participant – opening batsman Mayank Agarwal – made fifty as New Zealand took a 1-Zero lead in the two-Test collection.
‘We didn’t present sufficient competitiveness,’ India captain Kohli mentioned. ‘The easy reality is we didn’t play ok cricket.
‘We let ourselves down massively in the first innings with the bat. Some people might want it to be the end of the world, but it’s not.
‘For us, it’s a recreation of cricket we misplaced and we transfer on. We preserve our heads excessive.’
India have been comprehensibly overwhelmed by New Zealand, with man of the match Southee ending with match figures of 9-110.

The second Test begins on Friday in Christchurch.
