A scholar was left traumatised after discovering an unknown substance resembling brains in her carton of orange juice.
Lauren Howard, 17, minimize open the carton after detecting an uncommon bitter style and bits floating inside her drink.
After discovering the gloopy matter inside, Lauren couldn’t sleep and spent the entire night time retching.
The carton from Asda, which had an expiry date of October 2019, was sealed when Lauren went to pour herself a drink after dinner.
She mentioned: ‘The only thing I didn’t do was shake it – one thing my mum all the time mentioned I ought to do.
‘I started to pour it right into a glass and it was coming out a purple, bloody, orange color.
‘I thought it was strange but just put it down to the fact I hadn’t shaken it.
‘So I decided to take a sip but something seemed off straight away. It tasted sour and had bits floating in it.’
As she went to pour it down the sink she observed one thing was contained in the carton was stopping the juice from flowing out.
That’s when she and her mum Tracy, 48, determined to chop it open and see what was inside.
Lauren added: ‘Mum took a photo and put it on Facebook because we couldn’t work out what it was, it was so gross.
‘We’ve had guesses from brains to a useless mouse’.
Tracy, from Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, says she purchased the 89p carton of juice from ASDA two weeks in the past.
She was given a refund for the value of the merchandise after complaining on to the shop.
Tracy says her daughter has been ‘traumatised by the entire thing’.
She added: ‘That night she barely slept, and she couldn’t drink something, she was simply retching.
‘She was frightened about all drinks and what could possibly be in them, even the faucet water.
‘None of our family will be drinking juice from the carton again that’s for positive.’
