A man accused of faking his own death whilst going through fees of sexual assault has been arrested after he used to be reported lacking in the USA.

Kim Vincent Avis, sometimes called Kim Gordon and Ken Gordon-Avis, 55, used to be detained by way of the USA Marshals Service in Colorado Springs, police stated.

Monterey County Sheriff’s Office stated he used to be reported lacking previous this yr after reportedly going for a swim at Monastery Beach in Carmel, California.

Avis now faces being extradited to Scotland to face the allegations in opposition to him.



In a remark, Police Scotland stated: ‘Police Scotland is aware of reports from the USA regarding Kim Gordon or Avis and is liaising with the relevant authorities.’

‘Over the following few months, deputies labored with The US Marshals Service, Interpol, and Scottish government to safe an arrest and extradition warrant for Avis.

‘Last week, US Marshals were able to track him to Colorado Springs due, in part, to a report in March that Avis was spotted in Monterey county driving a newer white ford van in the Big Sur area.’
