A person phoned 999 in a panic telling police he feared sheep had been going to devour his kids as a result of he had given them lamb for tea.

In a recording of the decision to Humberside Police, the person stated: ‘The sheep are going to come in to my house and eat my kids.’

He claimed the animals had been ‘out for revenge’ and had began ramming into his entrance door.

The guy stated: ‘They are butting my door, they want in.’

When requested by the operator why the sheep would devour his kids, the person spoke back: ‘I used to be making cottage pie previous and that makes use of lamb.

‘The sheep should have smelt it, this is all I’m assuming.

‘Obviously I have eaten their kids so they are going to eat mine.’

Police have launched the tale to warn other folks about making beside the point 999 calls.

Force Control Room Superintendent Tracy Bradley informed The Yorkshire Post: ‘Inappropriate calls to our 999 and 101 strains may have a big have an effect on, inflicting delays in getting via for folks that in fact want our help and the 999 provider.
