An increased grant will help struggling households cope with the energy bills crisis.

Previously, a £200 loan in place for UK households was expected to be paid back.

The total package of new support is worth £15 billion and when combined with previously announced support, worth £37 billion.

Meanwhile, the Treasury is to send a one-off payment of £650 to eight million of the lowest income households in the UK.
