Rapist hunted by police after escaping from prison

Police are on the lookout for a convicted rapist who escaped from a prison in South Gloucestershire.

Daniel Thompson, 34, did not document for roll name at 4.45pm on Friday at Leyhill Prison, Avon and Somerset Police mentioned.

He has simply finished a 10-year sentence for rape and used to be on recall to prison for breaching a court docket order.

Police mentioned he will have to no longer be approached.

Thompson is white and of slender construct, 5ft 11ins tall with darkish colored brief hair.

He has brown eyes and is blank shaven, with a tattoo at the proper facet of his neck.

He used to be ultimate observed dressed in a gloomy blue tracksuit.

Police say Thompson has hyperlinks to Chester, Warrington and Darlington and would possibly use the title Gavin Barry.
