A young man is fighting for his life after being stabbed during a robbery in Croydon.
Three men are being questioned by police after the 21-year-old victim suffered ‘life-threatening’ injuries in the attack on Friday evening in Croydon’s High Street.
Officers and emergency services were called to the scene at 5.26pm, before the victim was rushed to hospital.
The suspects, aged 19, 20 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, soon after the young man was found lying in the road suffering from stab wounds.
He is also thought to have had his mobile phone and watch stolen.
Detectives are appealing for further information as a crime scene remains in place.
A spokesman for Met Police said: ‘Police were called at 17:26hrs on Friday to Croydon High Street after a 21-year-old man was found suffering from a stab injury.
‘It is believed that his phone and watch had also been stolen. Officers attended with London Ambulance Service.
‘The man has been taken to hospital where his condition is currently being treated as life-threatening.
‘Three males – aged 19, 20 and 22 years – have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and taken into custody’.
Witnesses or anyone with information have been urged to call police on 101.
